Christmas Decorations Workshop.
One for the adults!
 
Sunday 11th December 2022, 10.30am – 2.30pm
The opportunity to enjoy the outdoors whilst making Christmas decorations from willow and other natural hedgerow materials.
Perfect for anyone looking for the space & time to take part in a creative and mindful activity. Participants will receive instructions & guidance in a relaxed atmosphere taking part at their own level and pace. The session will include a soup & bread lunch around the campfire as well as drinks & a seasonal snack.
 
Aimed at adults, but suitable for ages 14+ (under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult).
Location: Windsor Hill Wood, Shepton Mallet
 
Price: £40 (includes lunch and refreshments), with Town Council funding we can offer generous sliding scale concessions for those who need it, please contact us for further information.

Woodland based out door sessions, 10am – 2pm (4 hrs). Suitable for 5-11 year olds.  Sessions are on Tuesdays & Thursdays, drop off. 

The whole 4 hours is outside.  Children can chose to play in the woods, build dens, do some pond dipping or try some natural arts & crafts. 

Over the past few years we’ve charged £15 per session, but we are trailing a sliding scale payment scheme this summer to see if it’s financially viable. If it is then we hope to adopt it for future sessions.

Adult Support Group – Woods for Wellbeing FULLY BOOKED
Wednesday 27th January – 1.30pm-4.30pm
Wood for Wellbeing is a series of weekly sessions at Windsor Hill Wood, Shepton Mallet.  It is especially designed for people who have experienced mental or emotional distress & those who feel socially isolated. The days are about relaxing & learning at your own pace. Our aim is that people who come find their own level of connection.
Woods for wellbeing runs for 10 weeks.  People who come regularly to all the sessions get the most out of it.  Group size averages at 12 people.  Sessions are led by Forest School Leader Kaye Watts and Warden at WHW Katharine Thompson, helped by volunteers.
It’s currently free as costs are supported by Shepton Mallet Town Council, Somerset Community Foundation and SS&L.  If you can afford to contribute something we ask for £3 per session to help with all the background things that keep the organisations going.

Woods for Wellbeing

A session for adults wanting to get out into nature, meet new people and learn something new.  Ideal for anyone who is seeking the space and support to improve their well-being and mental health.  We offer the opportunity learn new skills, such as basic green woodworking, building campfires and making shelter.

Parent & Toddler Group 2017 – Now Fully Booked
Every Friday (term time)
10am – 11.30am
£6 per parent & toddler per session, plus £3 for extra toddler
or ‘sign up for all 6’ for £5 plus £2.50 per extra toddler – if pre-booked ahead and paid up front (BACs, cheque or cash in advance). Babies (under 18 months) are free with other children, £4 for a mother and baby place. 
Drop in spaces  (if available – please message or text day before) – £6.50 parent & toddler , £3 for extra siblings.  (If you have not attended sessions before please contact us at least 10 days in advance to pre-arrange for drop in!).
Please bring correct money as we might not have the right change.

We have limited places so give preference to families who book ahead for all sessions.

During sessions your child will have opportunities to build physical strength, explore the wood, be creative, play imaginatively with natural resources and generally spend some fun time outside with other children.
